Our board is made up of leaders in education, business, philanthropy and international affairs. Their vision helps to direct our mission and strategy.

Malala Yousafzai is an education activist, a UN Messenger of Peace, and the youngest Nobel Peace Prize recipient. As a champion of girls’ rights, she is fighting for a world where every girl can learn and choose her own future.

Akhter is a former Chief Auditor of Unilever where he held many other high-level roles in Pakistan, Bangladesh, U.K., Latin America, South-East Asia and Australasia. He is currently, Audit Committee Chair of King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, a Non-Executive Director of CABI and on the Board of Developments in Literacy (DIL) Trust U.K. He has also served on the Board of Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as Deputy Chair.

Fayeeza is the co-founder and chairman of the Aman Foundation, a private philanthropic trust addressing health and education needs for the underserved in Pakistan. She also served as a Trustee of the British Asian Trust and as a founding member of the Advisory Board of the LSE South Asia Centre.

Lynn Taliento
Lynn is a Senior Advisor at McKinsey & Company, where she co-founded the global philanthropy practice. She helps leading philanthropists, foundations and corporations design innovative approaches to address social challenges. Lynn is also on the boards of water.org, Lever for Change and change.org.

Modupe Adefeso-Olateju
Modupe is Managing Director of The Education Partnership Centre and Programme Director of LEARNigeria. She advises education sector policymakers and trains public officials and development organisations on strategic planning and monitoring and evaluation. She also serves on the Advisory Committee of the Brookings Institution Center for Universal Education’s Millions Learning Programme and is an Advisory Board Member of the People’s Action for Learning Network in Kenya.

Pearl Uzokwe
Pearl Uzokwe is the Director for Africa Forward at Catalyst 2030. Her career spanning the Global North and South has included roles such as Director for Sahara Foundation and Director of Governance and Sustainability at Sahara Group as well as work in the legal and corporate sectors and with donor country governments and private nonprofits. She remains passionate about driving impactful initiatives infusing sustainability, good governance and continued stakeholder engagement.

Vanessa Nakate
Vanessa Nakate is an Environmentalist and Uganda's first Fridays For Future striker. She cofounded Tard Foundation, an organization working to support the work of grassroots activists. She is also the author of A Bigger Picture and the founder of the Rise Up climate movement, which works to amplify the voices of different activists from the African continent.

Ziauddin Yousafzai
Ziauddin Yousafzai is an activist and educator. He is the father of Nobel laureate, Malala Yousafzai. Ziauddin served as a teacher and school administrator in his home country of Pakistan. As co-founder of Malala Fund, he advocates for every girl’s right to 12 years of free, safe, quality education.

Susan McCaw
Susan is a former U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Austria and, through The Susan R. McCaw Foundation, is an advocate for education and economic development in the developing world. She is a trustee emeritus of Stanford University and serves as Board Chair of the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program as well as on the board of other non-profit organizations.
