Simidele Adeagbo — the first woman from Africa to compete in skeleton at the Olympics — knows we’re at our best when we work together. When she made history at the 2018 Winter Olympics, Simidele had the support of her country, coaches, family and friends behind her. Now, she is rallying her team behind a new goal: raising $3,800 for Malala Fund in honour of her 38th birthday.
“I'm dedicating my birthday to girls' education because I believe investing in this new generation of leaders and teaching girls the skills they need to succeed will build strong, stable communities,” explains Simidele.
Using Malala Fund’s Give Lively fundraising platform, supporters can now become a member of Simidele’s team and help her reach her goal by creating their own personal fundraising pages. This new functionality allows team members to mobilise their communities and encourages collaboration (or competition!) between supporters.
